The KAWASAKI KI-61 (Japanese "Flying Swallow") was a World War II Japanese fighter plane
Manufacturer: COBI

The KAWASAKI KI-61 (Japanese "Flying Swallow") was a World War II Japanese fighter plane. Initially, the Americans suspected that the plane was a copy of an Italian design and gave it the nickname "Tony" suggesting Italian roots. The official Japanese name was Army Fighter Model 3. More than 3,000 were produced. It was first encountered by U.S. airmen over Yokohama Harbor during the Doolittle Raid on April 18, 1942.

The Kawasaki plane was designed from COBI construction blocks in 1:32 scale using brand-new elements. The model offers many movable elements such as a rotating propeller, movable wing ailerons and wheels with rubber tires that can be folded to a horizontal position. The details and historical colors of the aircraft have been accurately recreated. The cockpit can be opened to place the pilot figure with his signature headscarf in the seat! Thanks to a special display stand with a plate containing the name of the aircraft the displayed set looks great! The model uses durable prints and features historical markings.
