COBI WW2 2552 Sd.Kfz.251/1 Ausf. A
An armored half-tracked tansporter unambiguously associated by everyone with the German army. Sd.Kfz 251/1 Ausf.A was faithfully reproduced using construction blocks. The model has been covered with high-quality durable prints. The prints imitate the equipment and painting of a vehicle from the beginning of the Second World War. The vehicle was equipped with movable wheels with real tires. Track traction consisting of realistic block links works and behaves like real while moving the vehicle. Storage compartments, opening rear double doors, machine guns and additional accessories make the fun of the transporter more attractive. The set is complemented by two figures representing a mechanic and a technician. These are completely new figurines complementing the collection. Brick with the name of the vehicle included!
The Sd.Kfz.251 armored personnel carrier is a perfect set for both small and large fans of construction blocks. Perfect for both a shelf and a block diorama. Older fans of blocks will appreciate the model as a collector's item and inspiration for building realistic dioramas or own constructions. Slightly more experienced designers will find a huge room for modification in this model. The German army had a staggering number of 23 official versions of the transporter, designed for very different tasks. You can easily disassemble the rifles and try to create a fire support version with a cannon or a technical support vehicle. Adding a tarpaulin or a roof is the way to create a sanitary version.
Sd.Kfz.251 is the basic half-track armored personnel carrier of the German army during World War II. Its production lasted from 1939 to 1945. Other combat vehicles were also built on its basis. It was produced in four production models, from A to D, and 23 basic and many field versions, of which the standard and most numerous was the Sd.Kfz.251/1 armored personnel carrier. The design of the Sd.Kfz.251 transporter was based on a modified Sd.Kfz.11 chassis. The armored hull was made of welded armor plates and consisted of two large parts joined by bolts. The front section ended behind the driver's seat. It protected the driver, commander and engine. The combat compartment opened in advance was to accommodate 10 soldiers. The rear, large, outward-opening door provided access to the interior.
