Prinz Eugen entered service in 1940 and was the only large German ship to survive the war! A surprising end met him!
In May 1941, he accompanied the battleship Bismarck in Operation Rheinübung, during which he fought a battle with the British ships Hood and Prince of Wales, sinking the former. Damaged by Prince of Wales, it went on renovation, during which it was bombed by the Allies. In February 1942, together with the battleships Scharnhorst and Gneisenau, he participated in Operation Cerberus, which was aimed at the passage of large Kriegsmarine ships from France to Germany. After the attack of the British submarine, HMS Trident lost its stern and went for repairs in Kiel. In the years 1942–1943, she served mainly in the Baltic Sea as a training ship. From October 1944 to April 1945, he supported the German troops fighting in Courland, and then in East Prussia. On April 8, 1945, he went to Copenhagen, where in May 1945 he was handed over to the British. In December 1945, the ship was taken over by the Americans, who in 1946 used it for nuclear weapons tests on Bikini Atoll. The ship suffered only minor damage, was later towed away and sank. It currently rests partially sunk on Kwajalein Atoll.

Use the COBI construction bricks set to build a model of the famous German heavy cruiser Prinz Eugen. The model was designed in a scale of 1: 300. The set consists of as many as 1790 blocks and provides many hours of exciting construction and fun. The high-quality prints used precisely reproduce the painting of the hull and details of the ship from the Second World War. The prints do not wear off even with intense fun. Once built, a realistic-looking ship can be displayed on the exhibition stand included in the set. The set also includes a brick plate with the name of the ship and scale. Many parts are movable (rotating cannons, movable barrels and ship cranes). Advanced and exclusive set will surely satisfy big and small fans of the navy, history and modeling.
