The Flakpanzer IV Wirbelwind is a German self-propelled anti-aircraft gun from the end of the Second World War. It was built on the chassis of the most popular tank of the Third Reich - Panzer IV. Production took place in November 1944. The chassis of the older Panzer IV or newer versions that were withdrawn for repair has been rebuilt. The traditional turret was replaced by a polygonal open turret equipped with a 20mm Flak-38 quadruple anti-aircraft gun. The rotating turret proved very effective against infantry. Due to the dramatic situation of the Third Reich, the production of this weapon was limited to only 87 to 105 copies.
