The Vought F4U Corsair is a US Navy aviation fighter aircraft. It was produced in 1942-1952 by Vought-Sikorsky Aircraft. During World War II, the aircraft was also produced at Goodyear under the name FG and at Brewster as F3A.

The popular "Corsair" entered service in 1942. However, the design process dates back to 1938. The characteristic shape of the broken wings and the rear cockpit were the result of numerous modifications during the prototype design and testing phase. The culmination of the work was a construction with good performance, but difficult to pilot (especially during landing). The aircraft was characterized by a high-power engine, speed, excellent visibility and a long retractable landing gear, which was forced by the use of a propeller with a diameter of 4.06 m. The weaponry included Browning machine guns cal. 12.7 mm in the number of six pieces, two 450 kg bombs and eight 127mm HVAR unguided missiles.

Vought F4U were equipped with the US Navy during Pacific battles. In Europe, Corsairs in British service participated in the attacks on battleship Tirpitz. The aircraft were also used in the early stages of the Korean War.

Assembling block fighters from World War II is an interesting way to spend time with your child and, at the same time, introduce him to topics related to history. The Vought F4U Corsair set contains 270 elements and one pilot figure. The model of the fighter aircraft from COBI was created with attention to the smallest details.

The plane has a movable propeller and ailerons. Its rotating wheels with rubber tires can be extended from the chassis in the take-off or landing position. The wings are folded in a characteristic way for this aircraft. The cabin can be opened to place a pilot figure at the controls. The plane was covered with high-quality prints that do not wear off even during intense fun. Stickers have been completely dispensed with in this set. Prints reflect the painting and equipment of the aircraft from the war period.

The set also includes a special stand that makes the model display more attractive, as well as a nameplate with the aircraft name.
